ISE with sensory integration techniques

'About a Boy' article added to website reprints
The Autumn 2008 Speech & Language Therapy in Practice article 'About a Boy' is now freely available in our Resources/Reprints section.
The article, by speech and language therapist Helen Francis and occupational therapist Joanna Lloyd, is about a 14 year old boy Mark John. He had profound and multiple learning difficulties, sensory defensiveness and severe communication difficulties. A collaborative Individualised Sensory Environment programme with sensory integration techniques paved the way for him to reach his potential.
This article is peer reviewed by Deborah Green and Nicola Hayton in the Spring 09 issue as part of our 'critical friends' pilot.
