Article reprinted to mark 10th birthday of Picture Exchange Communication System in UK

To mark the 10th birthday of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) in the UK, we have posted a Winter 2002 article 'PECS appeal' in our reprints section.
Sally Poole's study of a 27 year old man with learning disabilities joins an Autumn 2003 reprinted article by Sarah Heneker and Lisa MacLaren Page. Their 'Functional communication: the impact of PECS' looks at the effectiveness of introducing the approach to whole classes within a school.
Pyramid Educational Consultants UK, which provides PECS training, resources and consultation, celebrated the 10th anniversary last week with a workshop on the language of emotions by PECS founders Andrew Bondy and Lori Frost. More on this in the next issue of Speech & Language Therapy in Practice.
